Henricus Stephanus - Varii Historiae Romanae Scriptores - 1568

“Various Historians of Rome, Some Greek, Some Latin, Brought Together into One Corpus,” 1st and 4th volumes, 1568.

For sale are 2 volumes, on different historians of Roman history. Both volumes are each bound in a very nice contemporary binding.

For Volume 4, one of the clasps is only halfway present. Volume 1 still has both clasps, one closes without issue. The other requires some force to close and open, but it is possible.

Both bindings are very well preserved; they are lightly rubbed and there are a few spots and worm traces.

Volume 1 almost continuously shows light to somewhat more pronounced marginal spots. Further back, the condition worsens a bit, and at the end a few worm traces appear.
Volume 4’s pages are age-browned and there are some marginal and corner spots. Further back there are a few worm traces as well as additional spots.
