Marcus von May, The look, an original oil portrait painting from 2025 in contemporary style, 50 by 50 cm, featuring black, brown, grey, multicolour and beige hues, hand signed, origin Poland, sold by Gallery, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
He was born in 1970 and has been interested in painting since early childhood; a visual artist, poet, and seeker of meaning. He approaches life with an almost philosophical precision, breaking conventions and searching for his own means of artistic expression.
His paintings are surreal journeys into the furthest corners of imagination, a sense of truth, and unrestrained streams of thought.
In his work, he uncovers truths about figures, objects, and landscapes, weaving in his surreal visions. He excels at portraiture, highlighting the character of his subjects. The paintings of Marcus Von May contain a considerable degree of distance and humor, appreciated by collectors both domestically and abroad.
May 1995 – First prize in an art competition and third prize in a poetry competition at the 2nd Review of Non-Professional Creativity.
October 1995 – First solo painting exhibition combined with a poetry evening titled “On the Edge of Darkness” at the Municipal Centre for International Information. After that date many more exhibitions.
