Two resin Buddhas from India, dating to 1990–2000, each about 22 cm high with an overall width of 64 cm and depth of 20 cm, showing a reclining posture, rich polychromy in orange, gold and bronze tones, decorative geometric bases, and in good used condition with minor signs of age and imperfections.
Description from the seller
They are two Buddha figures that, although from the late 20th century and made of resin, have a serene and monumental presence thanks to their 64 cm height and the richness of their polychromy. Both represent the reclining posture, that iconography associated with the transition to parinirvana, but here interpreted with a more contemporary decorative language, designed to make a visual impact and to bring a warm spiritual air to any space.
The resin, worked with generous volume and smooth surfaces, allows a very defined modeling: the folds of the robe, the relaxed curve of the body, the peaceful expression of the face. The polychromy combines orange, gold and bronze tones that add shine and depth, creating an almost metallic effect that enhances the details. In one of the figures, the bead necklace adds an ornamental touch that reinforces the sense of a ritual piece reinterpretated.
The bases, decorated with geometric motifs, anchor the sculptures and give them an air of ceremonial objects, though with a clearly decorative finish typical of the late 20th century. They are figures that convey calm, balance and a friendly exoticism, conceived to occupy a prominent place and fill the room with a tranquil and luminous presence.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
