Description from the seller

Intense portrait of Frida Kahlo, contrasted by a powerful black-and-white and a vivid yellow background speckled with small naive and joyful flowers.
Her statement hits like a manifesto: drawing strength from hardship to create.
What she did all her life.
A living, punchy work, where pain becomes color, and resilience, almost festive.

This is one of my creations

My bio:

Jo y Posso
Artist

French artist Jo y Posso lives in Pigalle, just a stone's throw from the Moulin Rouge

For 20 years, she worked in fashion as a stylist, and spends the rest of her time creating collages and lighting fixtures. She cuts up her art books to create encounters between great classical figures and pop art icons, thus telling sensual, funny and feminist stories. More recently, Jo y Posso has turned to mixed media to incorporate street art influences into her work.

In her studio in Pigalle, Jo y Posso paints the woman in all her states; between strength and vulnerability, humor and sensuality.
These icons borrowed from classical art as much as from pop culture give a plural image but always freed from the woman. At the heart of this work, resolutely pop and street, writing also holds a predominant place; excerpts from literary texts, poems or songs occupy her canvases like landscapes. And it is in these words that one must come to find all the meaning.

Galleries in Paris: Libre est l'Art, Urban Art Gallery,
Galleries USA: Besharat Gallery, Kevin Barry Fine Art
Galleries Israel: Under 1000 Art Gallery
Auction: for the benefit of the Orh Torah association of Toulouse
And many, many group exhibitions
