Description from the seller
The German Junghans Meister Mega from the Meister series continues the tradition of the first half of the 20th century and combines it with the most modern watchmaking in the form of a radio-controlled movement. This model undoubtedly ranks among the most elegant radio-controlled watches worldwide. Between the 1930s and 1960s, watches by the designer Anton Ziegler of that era were produced in a similar style. Today the watch returns with the latest technology! The Junghans Meister Mega is equipped with the battery-powered in-house caliber J101.65, which is radio-controlled and thus ensures the highest accuracy at all times. The radio control of this movement operates on multiple frequencies, i.e., it receives signals from five radio transmitters worldwide (except the Chinese transmitter). Even outside the signal range, the J101.65 achieves extremely high accuracy – precisely +/- 8 seconds per year. Time setting is also possible via smartphone using the Junghans MEGA app (for Android and iOS). This movement also offers an perpetual calendar function that runs without correction until the year 2400, even without radio reception. The date display is located at the traditional 3 o'clock position. Another interesting feature of the in-house J101.65 movement is the motion of the seconds hand. It does not jump after one second like most quartz movements, but after half a second. In addition, the position of the seconds hand (with the help of ITC technology – Intelligent Time Correction) is aligned 1,440 times daily based on the most recently received time information. Also unusual is the movement of the minute hand, which moves in minute steps rather than smoothly. The case of this model is made of stainless steel and is elegantly complemented by the leather strap. The dial looks very elegant thanks to the finely crafted hands. It is protected by a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. On the dial there is a world map with the positions of radio transmitters, used to set the watch. The water resistance is 50 meters (5 ATM) – the watch is thus protected against normal water contact such as rain and splashes.
