Description from the seller
Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). Reside en España.
This graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and Audiovisual Communication from the University of Burgos has received notable academic training, complemented by experiences abroad thanks to Erasmus scholarships he completed in Portugal and Belgium.
His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, digital art and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings and collages. His style is characterized by a rich, vivid and expressive color range, as well as a plastic compositional style with dynamic and unusual perspectives, influenced by his passion for analog photography.
The themes he tackles in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits…that’s all,” following the famous phrase of David Hockney. Although his work starts from figurative representation, he has recently begun to experiment with geometric abstraction, always in large, expansive formats.
This artist has participated in numerous exhibitions at the national level, with a special focus on the north of Spain. For more than 20 years, he has presented his work in various towns, such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria and Salamanca, where his work is particularly recognized. He has also earned painting awards at both national and international levels, underscoring his talent and recognition in the art world.
Recently he won the prize at the III Motril Art Contest. 2024.
In addition to his presence in exhibitions, his works form part of multiple private collections around the world. This demonstrates that his work is appreciated not only by the general public but also by collectors and art lovers who value his unique style and technical skill.
In short, this graduate in Fine Arts and Audiovisual Communication has developed a distinguished artistic career, focused on oil painting, acrylic, digital art, paper and watercolor. His work is characterized by a rich color range, a plastic compositional style and unusual perspectives. With numerous national and international exhibitions and awards, his work belongs to private collections across the world.
