"Identity settings"

The work proposes identity not as a fixed entity, but as a variable disposition that is organized on the body.

The figure appears fragmented and partially withdrawn: the face, the traditional nucleus of recognition, is displaced, while the bodily surface assumes the function of support where signs, gestures, and substitutions are inscribed.

Identity, in this sense, is not revealed, but configured.

Far from an expressive or psychological reading, the painting proposes a structural logic: the body operates as a field where different elements — image, symbol, matter — are distributed without a fixed hierarchy.

This organization does not seek to complete itself, but to remain in a state of controlled instability, where what is visible never fully coincides with what identifies.

"Identity settings" thus points to a contemporary condition: identity as an assembly, as a surface in constant readjustment.

Presence becomes partial, mediated, and the subject is suspended in a system where showing oneself also implies hiding.
