The object dates to the second half of the 20th century (circa 1970–1980). The hallmarks present (925 title and factory mark with a star) identify an Italian production of excellence dating after the 1968 reform, from the renowned Tuscan goldsmith districts.

The lid features superb engraving with scroll motifs and acanthus leaves. The decoration is extremely detailed and covers the entire upper surface, creating a refined play of light and shadow.
