Description from the seller
This charming antique Staffordshire dog is made of glazed ceramic and represents a fine example of the classic Staffordshire style, which was especially popular in England during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The statue shows a seated dog with an expressive look, large brown eyes, and an elegant collar with a chain – typical details that make these decorative figures so beloved by collectors.
The sculpture is rendered in a cream-colored glaze with subtle hand-painted accents. Across the surface there is a fine craquelure pattern as well as some fading, which points to its age and authentic character and contributes to its charming, antique appearance.
