Description from the seller
ART DECO TABLE SURTOUT - MAISON RAVINET D'ENFERT (56 CM)
MASTERPIECE – XL EXCEPTIONAL FORMAT
This octagonal table centerpiece is an emblematic piece of French goldsmithing from the Art Deco period (circa 1925-1930). Made by the renowned Ravinet d'Enfert house, it embodies the geometric rigor and modernist elegance of the era.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Dimensions: Large-format model with a length of 56 cm. Its imposing size sets it apart from smaller standard models.
Origin: France (although acquired in Switzerland, the object is of certified French manufacture).
Signatures: Presence of the master goldsmith’s hallmark (Ravinet d'Enfert lozenge) and the State guarantee mark "Cygne", attesting to the precious metal content during its official inspections.
Style: Pure Art Deco, with a frame in silver-plated metal featuring a stepped (staircase) motif and an octagonal cleansed shape.
Construction: Original assembly on a solid oak backing, ensuring stability and superior artisanal quality.
CONDITION:
Silvering: In perfect condition. The silver plating is intact, shiny, and shows no areas of tarnish.
Mirror: Original bevelled mirror. It shows an authentic patina and light signs of age (“in its natural state”), confirming its historical character and authenticity.
Back: The oak wood backing shows marks and signs of old workshop signatures or numbers that have become illegible over time, but testify to the object's history.
Overall: Complete object, structurally sound and unrestored.
