Max Klinger was a German painter, graphic artist and sculptor. He studied at the Badische Kunstschule in Karlsruhe, then at the Academy of the Arts in Berlin. He left behind an extensive body of paintings and drawings. 
Represented in numerous museums and major collections.

The drawing comes from the estate of a German female collector in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, who lived in New York until 2014.

Max Klinger war ein deutscher Maler, Grafiker und Bildhauer. Studium an der Badischen Kunstschule in Karlsruhe, anschließend an der Akademie der Künste in Berlin. Er hinterließ ein umfangreiches Werk an Gemälden und Zeichnungen. 
Vertreten in zahlreichen Museen und großen Sammlungen.

Die Zeichnung stammt aus dem Nachlass einer deutschen Sammlerin in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, die bis 2014 in New York gelebt hat.
