Description from the seller
Artist: Jakob Iciren, born in St. Pölten, lives and works in Vienna
Jakob Iciren studied art—and at the same time freed himself from fixed rules. For him, art is an open field: without mistakes, without rigid order. And therein lies its depth—that freedom requires a sensitive, almost intuitive understanding.
His works often arise from a moment of resistance. When something is not enough for him, a process of returning begins. The image reforms, condenses—and gains clarity and strength.
His oeuvre is a dialogue, a quiet dance between him and the medium. He sets impulses, but the material responds. Decision does not arise alone—it's developed in interaction.
Consciously stepping away from the classical brush, Iciren works with unconventional tools, including a hammer. This direct, physical technique leaves traces of energy and friction—a visual language that is at once rough and precise.
His works are in private collections. Exhibitions have taken him to Mumbai; a presentation in Marbella is planned for this year. He is also represented by established galleries in Vienna.

The Work: Cotton Candy combines apparent delicacy with raw power. The purple appears soft and floating, almost sweet as the title—and yet the surface is marked by hammer blows, which do not destroy the image but shape it. From the direct impact emerges structure, a fragile sweetness that gains depth only through resistance.
In art there are no mistakes—only decisions that are not immediately apparent to everyone. Cotton Candy lives precisely in this tension: between lightness and hardness, between intuition and incomprehension, between what is visible and what only reveals itself with time.
