Lovely and rare paperweight "Grand Tour", dating from the 19th century.
Represents Petrarch, one of the great poets and thinkers of Italy.
In translucent alabaster, with floral engravings, a medallion in black marble and Petrarch's face, which is made in white stone, which I think is marble or from the marble family.
Structurally it is in very good condition, shows small flaws and wear at the corners and a hair at the top.
