Description from the seller
Raul Huerta, Granollers (Barcelona) 1982
is a Barcelona-based artist influenced by urban culture. Through his collage technique he attempts to capture the essence of each person in each of the portraits, to go further and explore the more emotional and sentimental fields.
Follower of Dadaism and admirer of artists from Hannah Höch or Raoul Hausmann, to Conrat Roset or Gonzalo Borondo, Raul's work takes as origin a portrait, usually of fashion, faces elegantly fragmented, warm gazes that emerge intensely. From that moment, combining pastel colors with recycled materials, he arrives at representing a pure, fictitious, ethereal beauty between color blotches and undefined strokes. An abstract wrapper for an image in which eyes or lips become absolute protagonists of the new pictorial incarnation.
His creativity arises from the need to create based on prefabricated foundations. Collage was the starting point to mix and experiment within the portrait from a sentimental point of view, since gazes, or their absence, go beyond and enter the interior of the self to reveal emotions and feelings.
Raul Huerta studied artistic baccalaureate at the Celesti Bellera center in Granollers and specialized in Graphic Design. His approach to collage is consolidated after several years trying different techniques. He has exhibited in different art galleries in Barcelona, such as Artevistas. Canal Gallery or Ineditad.
Ivy (2020), is an original painted collage, a mixed technique that unites collage with acrylic painting and spray. It is an abstract portrait of 40x40 cm on wood, finished with a frame.
The signature is on the back. It is a unique piece, which has been part of exhibitions in galleries in Barcelona.
