Wooden box with brass accents, dating to 1970–1980, made in France, in good condition with minor signs of wear, dimensions 14 cm high, 23 cm wide and 17 cm deep.
Description from the seller
A box that fits very well with the sober and elegant Art Deco of the first half of the twentieth century, where geometry rules but always with a touch of material warmth. The structure is made of wood, with a deep reddish finish that lets the grain show and conveys the sense of a well-made object designed to last. On it, the lines of gilded brass work as bright accents: they reinforce the edges, emphasize the rectangular form, and create that characteristic contrast between the organic wood grain and the metallic, almost architectural, decorative detail.
The proportions are balanced, without ornamental excess, which clearly places it in a more functionalist Art Deco, close to the elegant interior design of the thirties and forties. The small dark feet elevate the piece and give it the look of a modern little trunk, while the flat, clean lid recalls that search for pure lines that defined the era.
It is a box that could have sat in a study, a dressing table, or a refined-styled chest of drawers, quietly guarding small objects. Today it preserves that charm of a well-cared-for piece, where the gilding has aged softly and the wood maintains its warm presence, turning it into a decorative object with character and memory.
Certified shipping and careful packaging.
