The artist here reinterprets the codes of old painting and pastoral landscapes to conjure up a totally unexpected scene: a race in the style of Mario Kart, set in the countryside, as if Nintendo’s universe had crossed time to disrupt a master painting. The contrast between the bucolic, almost impressionist backdrop and the delirious energy of the characters gives the work its offbeat strength.

The iconic figures from the Mario universe appear: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, shells, mystery blocks, the banana, coins and all these instantly recognizable elements that have marked several generations of players. But here, instead of a digital circuit, the race unfolds in a countryside landscape treated as an old painting, with golden fields, crafted clouds, a distant castle and generous painterly touches.

SKE is a self-taught French artist and versatile creator who grew up immersed in 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large portion of his artistic work.

He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stencil, graffiti, urban installations and digital art. His dynamic, expressive compositions, often with double meanings, marry the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.

After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s market value has seen a notable rise. Winner of the first prize at the Urban Master contest (2023), then chosen as Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025). SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October, and he also featured in an American art magazine, confirming his international recognition.

His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States and Asia, consolidating his place on the contemporary art scene.
