For sale: a rare specimen of a military binocular produced by Research Enterprises Limited (REL) in Leaside, Toronto, in 1944. This model "C.G.B. 40 MA" was a standard for the Commonwealth forces during World War II, valued for its ruggedness and the quality of the 50mm lenses, ideal for use in low-light conditions (maritime or night reconnaissance).
Technical Features:
Original markings: It bears the clear engravings "REL/CANADA 1944" and the contract code "C.G.B. 40 MA" on the prism plates.
Body: Solid metal construction with the original black finish.
Optics: 50mm lenses offering a wide and bright field of view. Single eyepiece adjustment.
Conditions:
Body: Good cosmetic condition with normal wartime wear.
Optics: Clear lenses, no fungus or deep scratches. Clear vision.
