Chinese ice jadeite jade pendant Temple lion taotie mask, 20th Century
On offer is an attractive white, ice-jadeite jade (grade A) pendant. a nice pendant with a good quality ice-jadeite jade stone. The pendant is made as a taotie or temple lion. The high quality semi-translucent stone has a beautiful crackled-ice structure. Exceptionally; The bails of the pendant are carved from the same piece of stone! Ice jade is very popular and is often considered a sign of exceptional quality. A Very good example.
The jade has been identified as jadeite jade (grade A) by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color.
