Raphael Santi (1483-1520) Born in Urbino, Raphael Santi began his apprenticeship early with the famous Perugino, whose school emphasized calm, balanced compositions, free of excess. Later he moved to Florence, where Michelangelo and Da Vinci had already fostered a vibrant artistic climate.
