Andersen Antike Dose - Can - Silver - smell container, vinaigrette

Rare heart-shaped vinaigrette / scent bottle in silver, presumably of Scandinavian origin (Denmark / Schleswig-Holstein), crafted in the 19th century. The piece stands 6.8 cm tall and on the exterior features fine, ornately engraved heart motifs and a decorative crown as a finish.

The interior is fully gilded and shows the typical two-chamber scent compartment, as used for historical vinaigrettes. The formal design, the material, and the workmanship clearly indicate a hand-made piece from the 19th century.

Condition appropriate to its age, with authentic patina. A decorative and collectible gem of historic silver art.
