With The New End Boss, SKE reworks the universe of the cult video game, launching it into a pop, street art, and deliciously contemporary reading.
Here, Mario no longer faces Bowser, the carnivorous plants, or the red shells: the real final boss now seems to be somewhere else. Behind Peach, now an elegant silhouette, almost untouchable, Mario advances carrying bags from the great luxury houses. Louis Vuitton, Dior, Rolex, and other nods to iconic brands replace coins, mushrooms, and bonuses from the original game. The quest is no longer simply to save the princess: one must now survive the next level of desire, shopping, and prestige.
The work humorously plays with the new symbols of power of our era. Luxury bags become trophies, golden coins slip away as in a bonus level, and Mario, the quintessential popular hero, is transformed into the official bearer of the kingdom of consumption.
The slogan “The New End Boss,” painted like a stencil on a raw wall, gives the scene its full satirical power. SKE questions, with lightness, our relationship to brands, social status, and image, while maintaining an immediate, accessible, and very pop visual energy.
Between a homage to gaming culture, a nod to the Nintendo universe, a subversion of luxury codes, and street art aesthetics, The New End Boss stands out as a funny, biting work that is perfectly in tune with the times. A piece that reminds us that today, the final boss may no longer have a castle: it wears heels, loves iconic bags… and costs far more than an extra life.
- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all‑rounder who grew up in the culture of the 80s/90s, inspiring the majority of his artistic works.
He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stencil, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic, expressive compositions, often double‑edged, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s market value has seen a notable rise. Winner of the first prize at the Urban Master contest (2023), then named Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by Opulence Gallery in October, and he also benefited from a feature in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, consolidating his place on the contemporary art scene. At the same time, SKE has also established himself in the digital art market, a major trend of the last two years, strengthening the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of pop culture, bold graphics, and texture plays characterize a style that has become essential.
SKE is undoubtedly an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.
Awarded & Recognized Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY SKE’s work fits into a prestigious lineage. His line bears the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works create a bridge between eras: they reimagine the classics, not hesitating to subvert the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront them with a modern urban aesthetics close to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons of our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge. The influence of gaming, comics, and graphic novels is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the mythical Game Boy, to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charmeleon, Ash), through Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style sometimes reminiscent of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits beside logos of luxury and fashion giants. His canvases capture the “Hype” aesthetic: you encounter the sneaker world (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off‑White) and high fashion (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass-consumption icons like Coca‑Cola. It is vibrant art, with textured finishes evoking the glossy finish of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski.
This work is ideal to enrich a collection or bring a dynamic touch to your living space.
