Large-format figurative painting by Georgian-German artist Emsari Gorgasali.

The artwork captures an intimate moment of quiet contemplation: a seated female nude figure immersed in warm light within an atmospheric interior setting. The composition combines classical academic figurative painting with a contemporary emotional visual language.

Particularly characteristic is the sensitive treatment of light, skin tones and spatial depth. The calm body posture and muted warm palette create a strong psychological presence and intimate atmosphere.

Emsari Gorgasali was born in 1963 in Tbilisi, Georgia, and received artistic training in Saint Petersburg and Tbilisi. Since 1990 he has lived and worked in Germany as an independent artist.

Between 1994 and 1996, he worked artistically for the renowned Europa-Park in Rust, Germany, where he created hand-painted curtains and scenic elements for the park’s ice arena. During this period he also produced works for the courtyard of the Andalusia Hotel, including a painted interpretation inspired by El Greco.

In 1993, he participated in restoration work on historic ceiling paintings at the Stiftskirche in Lahr. Further artistic collaborations followed in Rome in 1998 near the Villa Medici above the Spanish Steps.

His works have been exhibited in venues including:

While his earlier works were influenced by Expressionism, his current paintings increasingly combine realism with expressive color composition and atmospheric depth.
