Mosconi's Tempi moderni, a 2024 original acrylic spray on canvas (120 x 70 cm) in a surreal, geometric style, signed by hand and sold with a wooden frame, depicting pop culture themes and produced in Italy.
Description from the seller
The painting "Tempi Moderni" is a central work of the Economist-painter's latest production, presented in the 2024 solo exhibition at the Villa Imperiale of Galliera Veneta (Padua). The work, as well as the entire show, inspired by Joan Miró, moves in the wake of surrealism, retracing the fairy-tale and geometric imaginary of the great Spanish master and recalling atmospheres similar to that of "Harlequin’s Carnival." In contrast with the canonical representation of the dehumanized factory (implicitly evoked by the Chaplin-esque title), the color and form propose an alternative to modern rigidity, aiming for a creativity that frees the viewer from the chains of daily life. The stylistic signature of this work is marked by a lively use of color, geometric strokes, and an abstract surrealist composition. In this context, the critical-artistic intention is to bring "joy" and the "freedom of fantasy" into a world of art often dominated by descriptive tendencies. The artist blends his intellectual experience (as an economist and sociologist) with instinctive painting, which seeks to respond to the challenges of fate and modern complexity through visual metaphor.
The painting, made on canvas 120 x 70, is ready to be hung and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
Please note that colors in the images may differ slightly due to different lighting conditions.
The painting was created without a brush; the colors were applied with acrylic spray paint and indelible markers.
The painting, realized in 2024, is bordered by a small wooden frame. It is also dated, signed, and titled on the front.
