Description from the seller
Striped Tablecloth
95 x 70 cm
Acrylic on canvas
Striped Tablecloth develops a still life constructed from an elevated view, where the repetition of dishes, tomatoes and scattered elements organizes the composition over a surface of blue and white stripes. The geometric structure of the tablecloth functions as a visual base, marking rhythm and direction within the scene.
The intense red of the tomatoes introduces points of chromatic tension that contrast with the cool blues and whites of the background. Objects appear distributed in a fragmented way, generating a sense of movement and spontaneity within a carefully balanced compositional system.
The work combines formal synthesis and spatial clarity, using defined color planes and simplified shadows to build depth. The presence of reflections in the glasses and the floral decoration of the tableware adds detail and visual variation without breaking the unity of the image.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mar Legón develops a painting practice focused on the exploration of color as structure and emotion. Her work is characterized by clear compositions, formal synthesis, and vibrant contrasts that place the everyday in a contemporary territory.
Through still lifes, tropical scenes, and elements of the immediate surroundings, she builds a coherent and recognizable visual language. Each work is an original piece that reflects ongoing research into the balance between form, color and space, consolidating a solid artistic identity that is forward-looking.
