Two ceramic plates from Atelier Troiţa, Bucharest, Romania, dating to circa 1920; diameters about 25.5 cm and 25.3 cm with weights of 694 g and 551 g; in good condition with minor traces of aging.

Ceramic plate, Troiţa Workshop, Bucharest, Romania, 1920
The Troiţa (Trinity) Workshop was an important artisanal ceramic workshop at the beginning of the 20th century, during the remarkable cultural flourishing that Bucharest and all of Romania were experiencing. It was located on Popa Savu Street, a street renowned for its art studios, near the Arc de Triomphe. The pieces from this workshop are now rather rare and highly sought after. Similar ceramic objects from this workshop are held at the Dr Nicolae Minovici Folk Art Museum in Bucharest, as well as in other collections.
