This work continues the classical tradition of European still life, where everyday objects are transformed into a symbolic language. The horizontal composition, controlled lighting, and dark background recall Baroque and Dutch paintings—where apparent simplicity carries deep cultural and even philosophical meaning.

The presence of food elements is not merely for visual beauty, but to reflect pleasure, the passage of time, and the abundance of life. The warm tones of the fruits, alongside the rough textures of bread and cheese, create a pleasing contrast that evokes a sensory experience of touch and taste for the viewer.

Bread

Cheese

Grapes
Beyond their connection to wine, grapes symbolize fertility, abundance, and the cycle of nature. In religious art, they also allude to salvation and eternal life.

About BarBeni:

Behzad Mojarad Bigdeli, known by his stage name “BarBeni,” was born in 1981 in Tehran, Iran. He completed his studies in architecture and later obtained a two-year degree in sculpture from the University of Tehran.

A self-taught artist in drawing, he has held several exhibitions on themes such as freedom, human rights, and nature, winning multiple awards in the fields of cartoons and caricature.

For nearly three years, he has been living in Germany, where he has participated in several group exhibitions in Oldenburg and Hamburg.

During this time, many of his paintings have been sold on reputable platforms such as Catawiki, SingularArt, and Saatchi.

He is highly passionate about sharing his experiences and skills with the younger generation.
