Robert Ganzo (signed), Du dancing or the Sentimental Dancer with an original frontispiece and banner by Marcel Vertès, Paris, Lemarget, 1930.
In-8, softcover, 106 pages, printed cover with an embossed feel, copy in excellent condition, untrimmed.
Original rare edition limited to only 310 numbered copies, this is No. 60 of 250 on Rives vellum, signed by the author Robert Ganzo on the colophon. Our copy is enriched with the double state of the frontispiece and the banner. Mention of ex-libris.
Robert Ganzo, born August 22, 1898 in Caracas, died April 6, 1995 in Boulogne-Billancourt, was a poet of Venezuelan origin writing in French. During World War II he joined the Resistance, mainly through his poems. Being Jewish, a communist and a resister, he was arrested by the Gestapo and taken beneath the Paris Opera into the interrogation room. He escaped with the help of his guard who knew his poems.
Very beautiful work on dance and the world of Parisian dancing in the interwar period!
