Two-burner portable kerosene stove, cast iron with a brass cylindrical top reservoir, dating from circa 1890–1915, dimensions 53 cm wide by 22 cm high by 43 cm deep, in good used condition with visible wear and patina.
Description from the seller
Exceptional old portable double-burner stove, powered by kerosene, made of cast iron with a brass cylindrical upper reservoir. This piece dates to the late 19th century or early decades of the 20th century (circa 1890–1915), a key period in the evolution of domestic cooking systems prior to the widespread adoption of gas and electricity.
The main structure is made of very thick cast iron, giving it notable solidity and durability. The decorative work on the base stands out, with relief motifs that combine functionality and aesthetic intent, characteristic of utilitarian objects of the era. The integrated legs slightly elevate the piece, providing stability and thermal insulation.
It features two independent burners with circular grates, designed to support vessels of different sizes. Each burner has its own regulation system via front controls, allowing individualized control of flame intensity. This configuration was particularly valued in domestic settings as well as in field use or auxiliary kitchens.
The upper reservoir, made of brass, has a horizontal cylindrical shape and is connected to the burners by metal tubes. This reservoir acted as the kerosene container.
The set retains an original, very attractive patina, with visible signs of use and aging consistent with its age. The iron shows surface oxidation and wear in areas of use, while the brass displays a naturally aged tone. No aggressive restorations are observed, which increases its value as an authentic collectible piece.
Condition:
In good overall condition for its age. Shows signs of use, wear and patina. It has not been tested recently, so it is sold as a collectible or decorative object. A technical check is recommended if you wish to use it.
