Los Arcos - Tarragona is an original oil painting on linen by Marta Argentina (1997), 27 × 35 cm, depicting architecture in an impressionist style, originating from España, hand-signed, in good condition, ready to hang with frame not included.
Description from the seller
“Los Arcos-Tarragona” is an intimate oil painting by Marta Argentina, inspired by Tarragona’s historic architecture, a city on Spain’s Mediterranean coast.
At the center of the composition rises a solid stone arch, surrounded by fragments of the old town: façades, shutters, balconies, dark window openings, light walls and a cobbled street. The artist does not approach the scene as an exact architectural record. Instead, she captures the atmosphere, age, texture, and the living presence of the place.
The loose yet confident brushstrokes of the oil suggest stone, shade, humid air, and southern light. The palette is built from complex tones of ochres, browns, grays, cream, and dark greens. The light touches and whites create glints of light on the walls and pavement, while the dark accents reinforce the sense of depth and the mystery of the ancient passage.
Although it is a small-format work, the painting is visually rich and expressive. It is ideal for an interior where one seeks something more than decorative imagery: a work with character, European atmosphere, and the sense of a real historic place.
