Description from the seller

This photograph, titled "Downtown After the Storm," is not just a picture of a city; it is the culmination of patience, serendipity, and a frantic race against time.

The Story Behind the Image:

I had been waiting for a long time to capture a shot just like this. The day it was taken was stormy and grey. I remember sitting on my couch, feeling disappointed by the weather, when the rain suddenly stopped. I looked out the window and saw the sky exploding with the most incredible colours as the setting sun broke through the storm clouds.

I knew this was the moment. I had roughly 20 minutes to grab my camera gear and race to my favourite vantage point at Brooklyn Pier 6. The result is this image, capturing a fleeting, electric moment where the raw energy of a New York storm meets the serene beauty of a perfect sunset. It's a day I will never forget.

Seller's Story

From Office Files to Times Square: My Journey in Light Hello, I am Viktoria Farkas. My artistic journey is proof that it is never too late to reinvent yourself. Until recently, I was working in an office environment, but in 2020, I embarked on a life-changing adventure to the United States. My mission was twofold: to master a new language and to dive deep into the world of photography. Trading my office chair for a camera, New York City became my classroom. I had the privilege of learning from renowned masters like Lindsay Adler and connecting with professionals like Norbi Bánhalmi. What started as a search for new possibilities quickly turned into a true calling. My breakthrough moment came when one of my photographs was selected by the Art Square NY gallery to be displayed on a giant billboard in Times Square—a long way from the office files where I started. This passion has taken me from hunting for lighthouses in Maine to chasing waterfalls in Watkins Glen, eventually leading to the publication of my visual autobiography, "Lens and Life," featuring my 100 favorite black-and-white images. Today, based in Budapest but available worldwide, photography is more than just a skill for me—it is my true love language and the way I connect with the world.
