The photograph comes from a 2024 project conducted in Hungary in the Puszta, the last European steppe: in this image, taken at Bugac, a herd of so-called “Hungarian Grey” cattle (also known as “steppe cattle”), the emblematic animal of the Puszta.
The image is signed on the back and measures 30 x 40 cm. It is printed in a limited edition (25 copies) on Hahnemühle Baryta FB 350 g paper and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Alessandro Gandolfi is an Italian professional photographer and journalist, co-founder of the Parallelozero agency. Interested in telling the small and large changes of contemporary society, his reportage has appeared in outlets around the world and has been exhibited in various international photography exhibitions and festivals. He has received international recognitions such as the Sony World Photography Award, the NPPA Best of Photojournalism, the POY - Pictures of the Year, and the PDN. Eight of his reports published in National Geographic Italia have earned the “Best Edit Award” as the best reportage across the magazine’s various local editions.
