AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

PENSAMIENTOS is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that turns a daily gesture into a scene of deep connection with the inner world.

The protagonist appears suspended in a moment of silence, with her gaze lifted upward and a cup of coffee in her hands, while the phrase “Let me think.” makes clear that everything important in this image happens inside her mind. The work speaks of those moments when the body remains still but the mind travels: decisions to be made, memories, doubts, dreams or simple conversations with oneself that find refuge in the calm of a pause.

The large blue cup acts as a symbol of that intimate ritual of waiting and contemplation, while the intense red background and the bold, black lines give the scene a vibrant visual energy that contrasts with the psychological stillness of the character.

PENSAMIENTOS is a modern representation of introspection: an invitation to stop, observe, and grant oneself the luxury of thinking without hurry.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
