Description from the seller
Wedgwood green jasperware decorative plate with neoclassical reliefs – Made in England, 20th century
Elegant decorative plate made of Wedgwood jasperware, the iconic English production recognizable for the refined contrast between the opaque colored background and the white reliefs applied. The sage green color, delicate and sophisticated, enhances the continuous relief scene that runs along the rim, composed of draped neoclassical figures, cherubs, and vegetal motifs, interspersed with stylized trees.
The composition clearly draws inspiration from the aesthetics of Greco-Roman antiquity, typical of the Wedgwood language, capable of combining elegance, balance, and decorative harmony. The relief is finely executed, with well-defined details in the drapery and in the proportions of the figures, a sign of careful workmanship and quality.
On the back there is the impressed mark “Wedgwood – Made in England – 61”, confirming authenticity and 20th-century production.
Dimensions: diameter 24 cm, height 2 cm.
Condition: excellent. No cracks or restorations reported; only very slight signs of aging on the back, absolutely normal and not visible on display, which do not in any way compromise the piece’s harmony and beauty.
Extremely versatile as a decorative piece: perfect as a wall plate in classic and elegant settings, but also ideal when incorporated into modern contexts to create a refined stylistic contrast. It is also suitable as a decorative element in bookcases, panelling, or decorative walls.
The photos are an integral part of the description. Guaranteed careful packaging entrusted to professionals in the field.
