AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

COMPRAS is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that humorously and sophisticatedly portrays one of the most recognizable impulses of contemporary life: the desire to want it all.

The protagonist, wrapped in a vintage pin-up-inspired aesthetic, appears holding shopping bags while her expression mixes illusion, anxiety and enthusiasm. The phrase “I want it all.” needs no explanation: it works as a direct confession of a daily, superficially superficial yet deeply human ambition.
The work speaks not only of the act of buying, but of everything it symbolizes: aspiration, reward, fantasy, whim, and the eternal search for that which we believe will make us feel complete.

The intense primary colors —reds, blues and yellows— together with the heavy black line drawing and the graphic polka dot patterns amplify its pop character, evoking advertising culture and the mass consumption of the 20th century.

COMPRAS is a fun, cheeky piece full of personality, ideal for those who understand that desire can also be a form of art.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
