Description from the seller
Giorgio Ferretti was born in Reggio Emilia in 1971, where he lives and works. For years he nurtured a passion for drawing with a strong attraction to figurative oil painting.
His father's figurative paintings fascinate him and lead him to imitate him from the age of 8.
In the following years he continues to paint constantly, eventually exhibiting his works in prestigious Italian public and private spaces.
I love painting figurative works where the predominant theme is the feminine.
Faces and bodies of women (sometimes in sinuous poses) are represented on damask backgrounds, with flowers and vegetal motifs mainly created by applying fabrics. These backgrounds contribute to a decorative and captivating appearance.
The titles of the works refer to female figures of Greek and Roman mythology, in order to cross the boundary of the present and assign them universal and timeless value.
