Description from the seller
This work by Wim Izaks (1950–1989) demonstrates the expressive power of one of the most distinctive Dutch painters of the seventies and eighties. Izaks’ work is often characterized by intuitive brushwork and a dynamic visual language that moves between abstraction and figuration — a style that earned him a place within the lyric-expressionist tradition of his time.
The painting, measuring 65 × 55 cm and beautifully framed, is a fine example of his ability to fuse color, form, and composition into a vivid and striking visual experience. In this work the energy of the brush is palpable, while the planes and lines find a balance between spontaneity and deliberate composition — a hallmark that recurs in many of Izaks’ late works
