Description from the seller
Lodewijk Busing, born 1965, Maastricht
The painting of a young girl in a white dress wading cautiously through the gentle surf. She wears a pink parasol and is focused on the glittering reflections in the water. In the background is a sun-drenched beach visible with a few colored parasols
Lodewijk is known for capturing the specific, often nostalgic atmosphere of the Dutch and European coast
In this painting the artist employs an impressionistic, looser brushwork, with deft strokes and a rich light-diffused colors accompanying from soft blue- and greenish-tones for the sea to warm sandy colors, thus he masterfully portrays the dynamics of the water and the play of the sunlight on the waves and the wet sand. The work exudes a calm, summer melancholia
About the artist; Lodewijk Busing ( HS -Hultman )
Lodewijk Busing was born in Maastricht in 1965; he is a versatile Dutch artist who has been active for many years. He draws his greatest inspiration from nature, which translates into two clearly artistic specializations;
* beach - Coastal vistas (under the pseudonym HS Hultman; For his very beloved and atmospheric impressions of beach life, sea and dunes he uses the name HS Hultman. His works under this name are known for their ability to capture a moment of calm and Dutch nostalgia
* bird - and nature paintings (under the pseudonym CH van Dijk): Under this name he signs his bird paintings and naturalistic works of, among other things, kingfishers, robins and other native birds
His works are often painted on panel, a support that allows the paint to 'speak' and to render the smooth texture of water and sand or the fine details of feathers and twigs to best effect.
Lodewijk has lived and worked for a large part of his life in the Bollenstreek, near his beloved coast and dunes
The painting is carefully packed and shipped with insured value
