Santicri was recognized among the Best-Selling Artists of 2024 by Artmayeur, one of the most renowned platforms in the art world. A simple and recognizable figure is transformed into something different. The teddy bear, a symbol of affection and protection, keeps its shape but loses its function: it is no longer something to touch or to live with lightly.

The surface completely changes the perception of the work. What appears familiar from a distance becomes distant up close, almost inaccessible. Thus a direct contrast is created between what we know and what we see.

The work plays precisely on this tension: on one side it attracts, on the other it keeps at a distance. In this way, an image tied to childhood is reread in a contemporary key, becoming something more complex and less reassuring.

Born in 1992 in Macerata, Marche, the Italian artist pursued a path that, through studies in Geometrics and Architecture, led him to collaborate with a resin sculpture artisan. There arose an ever-stronger need to find himself and unleash his creativity.
