MEDSAN's Sakura Waterfall (桜の滝), a 40 × 40 cm giclée on wooden mounted canvas, is an original, hand-signed UNIQUE EDITION from 2026 in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
With this square-format work, Medsan explores a new aesthetic dimension by substituting his usual Pop Art color blocks with the textured richness of a rendering reminiscent of classical oil painting. This print offers a powerful and romantic vision of the Japanese landscape (fūkeiga), featuring a monumental waterfall that crashes loudly against the rocks.
The composition centers on a striking contrast between the raw force of nature and human quietude. At the foot of the foaming cascade, a solitary figure, recalling the rōnin or the traveler, stands on a curved stone bridge. Shielded under a traditional umbrella of vivid red (wagasa), he contemplates the natural spectacle. The scene is sublimated by a skyward sweep of delicate pink cherry blossom petals (sakura) swirling in the mist created by the waterfall, adding a touch of delicacy to the rugged rocky landscape.
The visual impact of the composition lies in the perfect illusion of the impasto technique. Thick, dynamic brushstrokes bring to life the water’s movement, the density of the foam clouds, and the roughness of the mountain. The color palette, dominated by deep blues, turquoises, and earthy browns, highlights the bright red focal point of the umbrella.
A work of great dramatic intensity, offering a post-Impressionist reinterpretation of the major Ukiyo-e themes, ideal to bring a majestic, classical, and textured touch to interior décor.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a true center of artistic production, the studio operates both as collaborative creation and through individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo participates in a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, art brut, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and supervised within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and a unique identity for each artist.
