Born in 1958 in Queens, New York, Quik is a living legend of graffiti. He began his career in the 70s, leaving his mark on the wagons of the New York subway. Unlike many of his peers, he early on incorporated a social and introspective dimension into his art, blending the aesthetics of tagging with critical messages about society and his own life.
Known for his stylized characters and sharp humor, he succeeded in transferring the energy of the street onto canvas from the 80s. Today, his works are exhibited in prestigious museums such as the MoMA.
