Description:
A charming antique balance scale featuring two brass weighing pans mounted on an iron beam, set on a wooden base with a metal top plate. This type of scale was traditionally used in shops and markets for weighing goods.
The piece displays a beautiful combination of materials: warm-toned brass bowls, a cast iron mechanism, and a solid wooden base with decorative details and a small drawer. The central column shows elegant craftsmanship typical of the late 19th to early 20th century.
The scale remains a highly decorative object and a fine example of early weighing instruments, ideal for collectors or as a vintage interior piece.
Condition:
In used condition with visible signs of age and wear such as oxidation, scratches, and patina on the metal parts. The wood shows minor cracks and wear consistent with age. The scale has not been tested for accuracy and is sold as a decorative/collectible item.
