Description from the seller
The Count of Monte Cristo by A. Dumas. Naples, Società Editrice Napoletana (Rosario di Palazzo 25), 1867. Complete work divided into 11 volumes, here rebound in 3 tomes. Contemporary binding in full brown cloth with titles and decorative gold-tooled motifs on the spines. Edges sprinkled in red. The edition, printed in Naples in the mid-19th century, presents the following internal division: Tome I (volumes 1-2-3-4), Tome II (volumes 5-6-7), Tome III (volumes 8-9-10-11). A specimen that testifies to the wide editorial fortune of the work in the post-unification Neapolitan context. Slight foxing and signs of age on the inner pages and bindings, which do not compromise the solidity of the volumes. The complete work in 11 volumes totals approximately 1,400 - 1,600 pages (the numbering varies slightly depending on the specific edition of the Società Editrice Napoletana, averaging about 130-150 pages per individual volume).
