History of the Knockando Distillery
The Knockando Distillery is located in Speyside, Scotland, a region renowned for its smooth and elegant whiskies.

Founded in 1898 by John Tytler Thomson, it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to have electricity from its inception.

In 1905, it was connected to the railway network, which facilitated production and distribution.

It has changed ownership several times:
1904: W & A Gilbey (gin producers)
1962: International Distillers & Vintners
1997: Became part of Diageo (its current owner).

Historically, Knockando has focused primarily on blending J&B whiskies, with only a small portion bottled as single malt. Aging and Style of Knockando 1976
Knockando 1976 is a vintage whisky, meaning it is bottled according to the year of distillation.
Distillation: 1976
Bottled: approx. 1989–1990
Cask Type: Combination of:
American Oak (ex-bourbon)
European Oak (ex-sherry)
Aging: Approximately 12–14 years in oak casks.

Always stored in a private, temperature-controlled cellar.
