Fausto Zonaro (1854-1929) - Costantinopoli

Fausto Zonaro is a famous painter who was born in Masi in 1854 and died in Sanremo in 1929; he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and then moved his activity to Venice and Naples. He later goes to Constantinople where he becomes the court painter; at this period he is already a hugely famous and in-demand painter, as he still is today with appearances in the most famous museums, auction houses, and great collections; this painting, which represents Constantinople, is executed in oil on panel and measures 25x45 cm net of the beautiful frame that accompanies it, provided as a courtesy gift.
