Description of the work:
This Black Hole fits into Bruno Bani's research on the relationship between light, matter and perceptual depth. The work arises from the overlaying of three levels: a 40×40 canvas hosts a disc applied 30×30 sprayed in gold, on which is placed a second round canvas 25×25 completely white.
Between the two circles emerges a luminous ring generated by the integrated white LED, which defines the boundary of the “vortex” and transforms the work into a mobile and dynamic pictoscultural form.
Light becomes part of the structural composition: it accentuates the edge of the gold disc, produces chromatic vibrations depending on the environment and activates a constant dialogue between surface and surrounding space.
The optical effect of the golden ring, perceived differently depending on external lighting, is a sought-after feature of the artist, consistent with his entire body of work.
An elegant and rigorous work that embodies Bani's language, where painting, sculpture and light merge into a single visual identity.
