Shong (1990) created Flop Shong, an original 80 x 80 cm mixed‑media street art canvas from France, hand‑signed, dated 2018, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Shong – Flop Shong (c. 2018)
Mixed media: spray paint and acrylic on canvas
Dimensions: 80 x 80 cm
Original work
This piece sits squarely within the world of contemporary graffiti, with layering, drips and spontaneous gestures. The artist develops here a dynamic composition blending abstraction and urban writing, in a vivid and contrasting palette.
The different layers of paint and textural effects convey an instinctive approach inherited from street art, while fitting into a more durable pictorial approach on canvas.
Expressive and decorative work, typical of current explorations around contemporary urban abstraction.
Good overall condition.
Careful shipment with appropriate protection.
Shong is a French artist from the graffiti scene, active for over a decade. Originally from Le Havre, he begins with tagging before gradually establishing himself in the graffiti milieu, developing a personal style marked by the energy of the gesture and the expressiveness of the line.
Very active in the 2000s within the local urban scene, he later moves toward painting on canvas to sustain a practice that is inherently ephemeral. His first works on durable supports appear around 2012–2013.
His work, influenced by graffiti and gestural abstraction, is characterized by free compositions, a pronounced use of color, and a constant search for balance between spontaneity and construction.
