Ceramic cachepot designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, from the Rimini Blu series, produced in Italy in 1959, dimensions 14 x 12 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Splendid and rare cachepot vase from the Rimini Blu series, designed by Aldo Londi in 1959 and still produced today.
Born in 1911 in Montelupo Fiorentino, Aldo Londi led a life devoted to art: he was a painter and sculptor, but above all a ceramist. For more than fifty years he collaborated with Bitossi, first as artistic director and then as a collaborator.
Ceramic expertise and artistic sensibility were his hallmarks. Combined with a predisposition for research, they allowed him to undertake bold explorations and define a new expressive vocabulary.
The iconic Rimini Blu series, produced continuously since 1959, stands out for the texture of its surface. The decoration, made up of signs that create a fantastical swirl of abstract-geometric elements set under the blue, recalls the play of light on the surface of the sea.
Measurements: 14 x 12 cm
Perfect condition.
