Joseph Salas Martinez (1949) - Composition

Joseph R. Salas Martinez Cuban artist and designer born in 1949; he studied typography and graphic design starting in 1972 at the San Alejandro Academy in Havana and took part in Professor German Sittauer's design course.
In 1973, he began working as a graphic designer and participated in the III Juvenile Hall of Art; three years later, in 1976, he joined the Hermanos Saiz Association. In 1981, he founded the group «Temps libre» with four other designers. In 1992, he joined the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and began working as an independent artist. In 1997, he joined the “Project Landscape.”

1989: Mention in the 7th Book Art competition in the interior design category, Havana, Cuba.
1988: Mention in the second room of Centro Habana, in the drawing category, Havana, Cuba.
1985: Mention at the National Propaganda XVI Graphic Exhibition "July 26" in the housing category, Havana, Cuba.
1984: 1st Prize in the bridge category and 3rd Prize in the science books category in the National Book Art Competition, Havana, Cuba.
