Copy no. 31 on C.F.B. eau-vert vélin, reserved for the Club Français des Bibliophiles, numbered from 1 to 130 — one of the most noble and rare prints of this original edition, above the alfa paper prints (1350 copies), pure rag vélin (162 copies), Hollande (130 copies) and Montval.
Signature:
Copy signed by Jean de La Varende in blue ink on the half-title.
Binding:
Later red half-leather binding, bibliophile quality. Boards covered with original marbled paper with red, yellow and blue predominance. Gilded edges and top. Rash-mark ribbon bookmark in red, white and black. Smooth spine with gilded titling.
Condition:
Very good overall condition for a 1951 book. Inner pages very clean, beautiful vellum paper, binding sturdy and aesthetic.
