“Limit”

In this work I treat the landscape as an timeless, ageless stage, a suspended space that does not belong to a specific place but to accumulated experience. I build the image from overlapping planes in acrylic on canvas, where the red background, charged with gestures and glazes, functions as an emotional atmosphere more than a descriptive one. On it I place a landscape reduced to the essential: trees as signs, minimal architecture and a softly undulating ground that acts as a memory’s support. I am interested in the synthesis between the geometric and the organic, where the image does not represent a place, but a feeling that travels with me and transforms with each lived experience.

The horizontal black line introduces the central concept of the work: the limit. It is not only a compositional division, but a symbolic threshold between two states. Above, the contained, structured landscape, almost silent; below, a freer field, where matter overflows into blue floral forms that burst forcefully onto the red. That contrast speaks of what is contained and what inevitably emerges. In ‘Limit’ I explore that diffuse border between what we are and what we experience, between conscious construction and emotional impulse, understanding the limit not as a fixed barrier, but as a space of transition where everything is redefined.

Sobre R.Robin

Robinson Rodríguez García is a visual artist, theatre designer and drawing professor, born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, and residing in Spain. He graduated in 2003 from the Provincial Academy of Fine Arts, developing an artistic practice focused on painting and contemporary language, where abstraction, geometry and a strong symbolic charge converge. Between 2003 and 2005 he taught drawing workshops at the Manuel Ascunce Domenech School of Art Instructors, and between 2006 and 2009 he worked as a costume and set designer for the Provincial Council of Performing Arts of Santa Clara, an experience that decisively influenced his spatial and formal conception within the visual arts.

His work has been shown in several solo exhibitions in Cuba, notably at the Provincial Gallery of Art and in institutional spaces of Santa Clara. He has also participated in important group exhibitions and international fairs, including Art Basel Miami, group exhibitions in France and contemporary art events in the Americas and Europe. In 2017 he participated in art fairs in Mexico. His career is complemented by studies and international workshops related to scenic design and visual creation, consolidating a multidisciplinary artistic profile that dialogues between painting, space and contemporary symbolic experience.

The work is signed by the artist R. Robin and is accompanied by its corresponding certificate of authenticity, likewise signed. The canvas will be shipped rolled and protected in a professional cardboard tube, ensuring its proper conservation during transport.
